Are you looking for a way to get your child writing? Does your child also enjoy making crafts? If so, this is the perfect class!

Our class will focus on snowman and snow - a perfect class for January! 

Class will start with an introduction of names and a question of the day. We will then talk about snow and what snowflakes are made of and look like. We will examine some pictures of snowflakes and discuss what we notice about them. We will also talk about what makes snow melt. 

Then we will move into the craft portion of our class - making a melted snowman. 

Once our crafts are finished, we will work on finishing the following sentence: "Oh no! My snowman melted because....". Each child will be able to choose their own reason and write it on the provided handwriting lines. I will provide support for stretching out words and sounds as well as letter formation as needed. I will also create my own answer to the question and write it out for learners to see. 

At the end of class, students will take turns being able to share their melted snowman and sentence with the class. 

I do my best to make sure class ends on time. If any additional time remains, students will participate in some easy, quick winter drawings. If your student is not finished at the end of class, he/she may choose to finish independently after class.
