Thank you so much for your interest!* Help Detective Higdon crack the case that is baffling local and state officials! The local First Union Bank has been robbed of 25 million dollars and authorities are scratching their heads trying to figure out who stole the money.... In this one time class, students will help "Detective Higdon" begin the investigation by interacting...
Students will make observations and inferences (a guess based on prior knowledge and evidence) from the Evidence Picture Files. Students will draw conclusions and make inferences while reviewing suspects' criminal records. Students will synthesize all information from the presentation in order to deduce the identity of the robber. Team work skills will be strengthened through this activity.
I have been a classroom teacher for 19 years. I have often utilized similar activities in my classroom in order to help students understand and practice inferencing skills and synthesize information from texts in a way that is fun and has a "real world" application.
