課堂經歷
Young students will learn basic simple Cantonese words and phrases. I will be speaking both English and Cantonese, using visuals such as pictures, and short videos to introduce new words and simple phrases. Students will be encouraged to practice saying the new words or phrases. This will be a fun, interactive class for the little ones. There will be no textbooks or written materials used. I will use short videos of stories as well as children's songs. The focus is on hearing and speaking the language. There will be lots of exposure to the language. Your child is about to embark on a journey to Cantonese land. These are 45-minutes sessions with about 10 minutes set aside to "talk story." Most kids want to talk about life, friends, pets, games. So this time is set aside for them to do that. This way, I don't have to rush into the lesson. We will have time to visit for a while. External teaching tools that I may use will include: Youtube Baamboozle Educandy Note: This 3-day course will be offered regularly with new vocabulary words and phrases introduced each week.

I teach Conversation Cantonese, basic math and language arts to Kindergarteners and life skill classes to older elementary-age kids. My professonal background is in Social Work and I am currently in my last year of schooling to become a certified Special Ed Teacher. I have worked as an emergency-hired Special Ed teacher in an elementary school for one year. I have worked as a substitute teacher for the elementary schools for two years. So in total, I have 3 years experience working with elementary school students.
My philosophy behind teaching is that anyone can learn no matter what level they are at. And students learn best when class is interactive and fun. Thus, occasionally, I will use humor in class.
Something fun and personal about me is that I have a cat named "Baby." 評論
