In this one-week course, we will be meeting twice to discuss conflict and theme through the Marvel Universe stories/movies. We will think about conflict and theme through the lens of Stan Lee. Students will be encouraged to think from the perspective of a writer as we seek to better understand two of these vital story elements. We will be learning these skills through video clips, discussion of the Marvel Universe, and mini lessons. Students are not required to have any previous background knowledge to attend this course. Schedule for the course: Session 1: - Lesson and discussion: What is conflict in a story? How is conflict resolved? How does conflict impact the characters? - How does this apply to the Marvel stories? (Applying content with video clips and discussion) Session 2: - Lesson and discussion about theme and types of theme - How does this apply to the Marvel stories? (Applying content with video clips and discussion)

I am so looking forward to teaching your student. We are going to have a lot fun while learning core skills! In 2016, I graduated from Rollins College with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I have an active teaching certificate, reading coach endorsement, and ESOL endorsement. I am going on five years of teaching fourth grade. I absolutely love connecting with students and building a rapport with them!
