In this class, I will teach Intermediate Spanish vocabulary, conversational phrases, and basic grammar, focusing on practical use for everyday communication. Many cultural elements will be integrated to help students connect with their Hispanic heritage. If your child is not Hispanic, don't worry, this class is designed to expose children from different parts of the world and learn about Hispanic Traditions and Celebrations.

Here's a list of the different topics that could be talked about in class:

                          Hispanic Traditions & Celebrations

✅*Carnaval: Festivities, parades, and traditions in countries like Brazil, Colombia, and the 
   Dominican Republic.
✅*Traditional Dishes: Tacos, arepas, tamales, empanadas, and paella.
✅*Sweets and Desserts: Churros, flan, tres leches cake, and dulce de leche.
✅*Cultural Significance of Foods: The role of food in family gatherings and celebrations.
✅*Children’s Stories: Classic tales like
✅*Quinceañeras: The importance and traditions of this milestone celebration.
✅*Famous Artists: Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Fernando Botero.
✅*Traditional Crafts: Papel picado, piñatas, and mola textiles.
✅*Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead): Its significance, traditions, and symbols like calaveras and ofrendas.
✅*Las Posadas: Celebrations leading up to Christmas in Mexico and Central America.
✅*Semana Santa (Holy Week): Religious and cultural practices in Spain and Latin America.
✅* El Cucuy: The Latin American "boogeyman."
✅*Quetzalcoatl: The Aztec feathered serpent deity.


The class will use a mix of interactive tools such as slides, real-life examples, and video clips to explain concepts clearly. Students will engage in hands-on activities, including games, role-playing, and group discussions, to practice what they've learned.

The teaching style is interactive, encouraging, and student-centered, fostering confidence and a positive learning environment. The class emphasizes fun and engagement, focusing on participation and cultural appreciation.

Learners will have frequent opportunities to interact, including:

-Live Discussions: During lessons, students can ask and answer questions.
-Games: Collaborative games to practice vocabulary and phrases.
-Role-Play: Guided conversations with direct feedback.
-Q&A Sessions: Time to clarify doubts and practice pronunciation.
-This approach ensures students stay engaged, build confidence, and receive personalized attention during the Zoom sessions.

Don't know your child's Spanish proficiency level?

       One of my primary goals is to ensure that your learner is placed at the right level from the very beginning. 

      If you already know your child's Spanish level, please let me know. This careful placement will significantly enhance their learning experience, making the class more enjoyable and productive.

       If you’re unsure of your child’s Spanish level, don’t worry! I offer a 25-minute 1-on-1 Language Proficiency Assessment session to evaluate and determine your child’s proficiency level. While optional, this assessment is highly recommended to ensure your learner starts at the right level. 
      If you are interested, please feel free to reach out via message, I will send you the link to sign up for the 25 min. 1-on-1 Language Proficiency Assessment. 

       Alternatively, you may wait until your child attends the first class session. If I observe that the current level is not a good fit whether they need to be more challenged or additional support I will recommend placing him/her in one of the different sessions that I offer and better suits his/her needs. Of course, you will have the final decision before making any changes.
