In this ongoing class, students will learn how to write code using the website code.org. This is a fun and easy way to learn how to use blockly-style coding. This website is designed for all ages and starts the students off with a very simple and easy-to-read style of coding. Here is the breakdown of the weeks: Week 1: Week of January 3: Flappy Code Week. Students will learn blockly-style coding through the website code.org. This will improve their computer science skills and set them up for success in all their core subjects in school. Computer science is one of the fastest-growing careers out right now, with an increased 20% growth in the next 10 years. It sparks creativity and problem-solving in an easy and attainable way.
We will be using code.org for these classes. Although this is a kid-friendly website used in schools already, if you would like to explore the website beforehand, it is advised.
