"Circle time provides a time for listening, developing attention span, promoting oral communication, and learning new concepts and skills. It is a time for auditory memory, sensory experiences, socialization, and a time for fun. Circle time can be a complex, dynamic interaction among adults, children, and resources used. " -Wikepedia In this Preschool class, children will engage in activities that introduce basic shapes, colors, letters, and numbers. Finger plays, songs and rhymes and more will be infused into our circle time. As well as movement , relaxation techniques and exercise. We want to build life long learners by providing activities that make learning fun and engaging. Repetition is key in getting children to learn. Homework will be interactive activities that help to reinforce skills learned. Our routine each session will include: Calendar Activities: Days of the week Months of the Year Seasons Weather Finger Play/Nursery Rhymes Letter Identification Letter Sound Recognition Math skills Letter/Number/color/shape of the week These activities will be guided by the ability of the students and may vary each week due to interest and need and are subject to change. Week 1 - Informal assessment of skills. Students will become familiar with shapes, colors, numbers, and letters and their sounds and be able to identify them in their environment. They will also be introduced to days of the week, months of the year, weather, seasons and temperature. Students will engage in fingerplays, poems and songs.

We may do small movements during our fingerplays and songs. I may ask children to stand up and move around to participate.
Please provide guidance for children if you are allowing them to use child safety scissors

Greetings!
My name is Sheridan and I am an early childhood educator. Currently I teach Pre-K in an Elementary school in Georgia. Prior to that, I taught 4th grade, ran my own family childcare program in my home for 14 years, and taught 5th grade, Kindergarten and 1st grade for 10 years in Brooklyn , NY. I have a master degree in Teaching Reading and a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.
I believe that all children can learn and that learning can be fun. My goal is to build life long learners . We are never to young or old to learn!
I have 4 grown children of my own and 1 grandson .I love music, dance and cooking and creating healthy meals for myself and my family. I have been vegetarian for the last 22 years. I believe in natural healing and love sharing the little I know with others !評論
