Is your child excited about the holidays? Come join in this one time class for a fun holiday read aloud and then unlock some Christmas creativity by building with bricks your child has available. 
*Note, if you do not have bricks, you can use a material such as a dough, clay, or any other materials you have available. The goal is to allow your child to create something from the story using whatever materials he/she feels most comfortable with to enjoy the class.
 
We'll begin our class using the book, Snowmen at Christmas. My enthusiastic read aloud style will engage your child in the text and as your child listens, he/she will work on a variety of reading skills. As an experienced teacher and librarian, your child participate and interact with others to help make predictions, connections, and retell the story. 

After the story, your child will share with others about their favorite part and we'll work together to retell the story with teacher guided questions about the story. We'll then brainstorm ideas on what to build from the story or related to the holidays. Learners will build and interact with others through breakout rooms. Providing student interaction allows your child to work on social and oral language skills. After our building time, each child will share their Christmas creations, if they would like to, and then we will all finish will a fun holiday sing along, Jingle Bells!
