What did the Uranium say to the Plutonium? "You're the bomb!" This class will teach you all about nuclear chemistry. Unlike regular chemistry where electrons are the focus, this course focuses on the cores of the atom or its nucleus. We will look at why the nucleus is so important to our larger world. Students will learn about nuclear reactions, to include fission and fusion. They will take a basic understanding of atoms and develop their knowledge to how nuclear power plants work.
I have a PhD in Nuclear Engineering. I have also taught about the nuclear fuel cycle to homeschool high school children, so I know how to present the material in a fun, interesting way to students that have no prior background about nuclear reactors.
