課堂經歷
This class will be completely interactive and guided by what skills the learner would like to work on in each class. If your learner is a seasoned thespian, a beginner who simply wants to explore the theatre arts in a safe space, or somewhere in between, this class is adaptable for anyone. Class will be run at their pace and according to their abilities, and keeping their goals in mind. Depending on the needs of the individual, we will work on character development, monologues, improv, theatre terminology, breath and vocal work, movement, story-telling, research, theatre history, line memorization, exploring sound/light/set design, etc. It is helpful to let me know in the classroom chat about specific learning goals, before class so I can be sure to have the proper materials on hand (especially for theatre history and tech, or work with specific texts).

Some material for older students, if using scripted works, may have mature themes or content. Learners may be asked to participate in some physical movement during character work, improv, etc. They should be in a safe environment, wear clothes they can move in, and bring a bottle of water. If learner is using a monologue or other specific work, they will need to bring it to class.

I recommend that learners wear comfortable clothing, and bring a notebook, pencil, and water.

I received a BA in Theatre (Acting and Design) from UMBC and have been working as a theatre maker in various settings for over 20 years. I have credits as an actor, director, set/light/sound/prop designer, scenic painter, stage manager, running crew/stage hand, and technical director.
