課堂經歷
During the first part of the class, students will listen to the story that follows two friends who make valentines to their loved ones. As we discover Renoir's paintings, children will learn a few facts about Renoir and his family. Among other things, we will discuss what makes characters in presented artworks look kind, caring, and affectionate. In a second part of the class, students will make Valentine's Day tiles. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE LIST OF MATERIALS NEEDED FOR THE CRAFT....
Children will: • learn (or review) what artists do • learn (or review) warm and cold colors • practice their observation skills • exercise their fine motor skills while working on an open-ended art project
Materials for Craft: 1. A jar lid OR a cardboard rectangle (the size of credit card or a little bigger) 2. Play dough 3. Plastic drinking straw (optional) 4. Small piece of aluminum foil (optional) 5. Old greeting card (optional) 6. Small buttons, beads, sequins, plastic bread bag clips, or any other small decorative materials 7. Scissors 8. Glue 9. Markers
For the craft portion of the class, parental help is required for younger students (ages 4-5) and recommended for older students (ages 6-7) due to the use of scissors.
