During this one hour class, students will actively engage in a choose your own adventure style game. While engaging in this activity learners will learn facts about the Oregon Trail as well as daily struggles that settlers experienced while traveling. As learners progress though the game we will discuss how this westward movement affected Indigenous Nations, the environment, as well as animal life. Students will become familiar with what life was like on the Oregon Trail.
I am a certified teacher for grades K-6. I have taught history and geography for 11 years. I have also taken several courses and workshops on teaching Social Studies from multiple perspectives.
Handout will be posted in class the day before class. Please print out and bring to class along with a pencil or pen.
