Students will have use reading skills such as predictions, connections, and retelling as related to the weekly book.

One part of teaching I love is when you can blend together topics and interests for kids. As an experienced classroom teacher in 2nd and 3rd grade, I have in-depth knowledge of the literacy skills children need to tackle reading and so by combining that with building bricks, it makes for a fun literacy experience. You'll find on my profile I have worked as a an elementary school librarian which has allowed me to employ various songs, interactives, and engaging story telling techniques to help students grow an appreciation for books. I love to present material in a fun and engaging way to get your child motivated and interested about stories! I'll be working on the reading skills mentioned in the course description to help foster your child's reading skills while he/she has a great time building too!  My goal is for your child to have a blast building and sharing about his/her creation while picking up some new books/authors to explore even after our class has ended.
