Get ready for an explosive adventure into the world of science! In this engaging class, students will build their very own mini volcano and watch it erupt, learning the science behind volcanic activity in a hands-on, fun environment. Perfect for young scientists aged 5-8, this class combines chemistry, geology, and creativity for an unforgettable experience. Students will learn about chemical reactions, earth science, and the fascinating processes that lead to volcanic eruptions. They will explore the basic concepts of: Chemical Reactions: Using simple, safe ingredients, students will create a chemical reaction that mimics a real volcanic eruption. Volcanoes and Geology: We’ll discuss what volcanoes are, how they form, and why they erupt, using visuals to bring this fascinating part of Earth science to life. In the end they will build a model volcano by following step-by-step instructions using household materials, culminating in an exciting eruption where they’ll apply what they’ve learned to create and observe their own volcanic eruption. My teaching style is highly interactive, encouraging exploration, creativity, and questions. I guide students through each step, provide support, and encourage them to share their ideas. I believe learning should be fun and relatable, especially in science, where a hands-on approach is essential for young learners.

To participate in this class, each learner will need the following supplies: - 1 small cup or container (to form the volcano) - Baking soda (2-3 tablespoons) - White vinegar (¼ cup) - Dish soap (1-2 drops for extra fizz, optional) - Red or orange food coloring (optional, for "lava" effect) - Playdough, clay, or foil (to shape the volcano around the container) - A tray or plate (to catch any overflow during the eruption) - Measuring spoons and a small measuring cup Optional for Decoration: - Small rocks, sand, or toy trees to create a realistic scene around the volcano
