In this class, the students will use pen and paper along with computers/Ipads. They will also need the book Bud Not Buddy which will be provided to them as a PDF, or they can find it from a library. They will interact with the teacher via this platform through chat. Class structure: 1. 5 minutes greeting/waiting for students 2. 5 minutes of free writing. 3. 5-10 minutes homework review (share thoughts or insights with class) 4. 5-10 minutes guided lesson on a topic from the book. 5. 10...
TLW read Bud Not Buddy and show an understanding of the topics covered by written work, video presentations, and journaling. The Learner will connect the topics to everyday life and experiences. At the end of the course you will: understand Bud's point of view on life define vocabulary words that leads up to a better understanding of the text connect life in the 30s and 40s with life today write essays that support your thoughts create summary paragraphs answer comprehension questions understand and apply what it means to live in a time of racism, discrimination, and issues children deal with while growing up This course prepares students for a new perspective on the war we are fighting today #blacklivesmatter
