In this 4 week class students will learn the basics of reading rhythms using quarter notes and quarter rests, forte and piano dynamics (loud and soft), tempos (fast and slow), and how to hold drum sticks. Students will explore the different sounds they can make on something as simple as a bucket or pot/pan. We will develop finger dexterity using finger plays about llamas, turtles, alligators, and sharks as well as practice memory skills by playing “copycat” rhythm games. Throughout class we...
