The Lightning Thief follows troubled 12-year-old Percy Jackson on the adventure of a lifetime as he discovers that he is the son of the god Poseidon and must undertake an epic quest wherein he will enter the fantastical world of demigods, monsters, and Greek gods. As Percy begins to discover the truth about his heritage, he is sent to Camp Half Blood, a summer camp for demigods (children of gods), where he is tasked with a high-stakes quest to prevent a catastrophic war between the gods....
