This classic book by Roald Dahl (who also wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory among other classics), is a wonderful story for kids of all ages. We will do reading on our own before each class and practice our oral reading skills in class. During class we will do worksheets, discuss key plot points, our favorite parts, and other memorable moments. 
Before meeting 2: read Chapter 1 through the end of Chapter 5
Before meeting 3: read Chapter 6 through the end of Chapter 10
Before meeting 4: read Chapter 11 through the end of Chapter 16
Before meeting 5: read Chapter 17 through the end of the book! THE END!
