In this ongoing book club, learners will read and discuss a classic book each week developing their comprehension, vocabulary, spelling and more! Discover a love for reading together! ESL friendly. Week of 2/9/24 - Little Women Week of 9/9/24 - Pippi Longstocking Week of 16/9/24 - Matilda Week of 23/9/24 - The Jungle Book Week of 30/9/24 - Alice in Wonderland Week of 7/10/24 - A Christmas Carol Week of 14/10/24 - The Little Prince Week of 21/10/24 - Peter Pan Week of 28/10/24 - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Week of 4/11/24 - Anne of Green Gables Week of 11/11/24 - Treasure Island Week of 18/11/24 - The Railway Children Week of 25/11/24 - Mary Poppins Week of 2/12/24 - The Swiss Family Robinson Week of 9/12/24 - The Borrowers Week of 16/12/24 - Pinocchio Week of 23/12/24 - Heidi Week of 30/12/24 - Winnie the Pooh Week of 6/1/25 - The Adventures of Tom Sawyer Week of 13/1/25 - The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe Week of 20/1/25 - The Secret Garden Week of 27/1/25 - The Wind in the Willows Further classes will be added. Learners can join the class at any point. This is an ongoing course so each class stands alone. We focus on a different theme from the books each week whilst developing comprehension skills, grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing. Learners can join the class no matter how much of the series they have read. Each week will include a range of teaching activities including reading out loud, videos, discussions, activity sheets, Q+A, slides and more. Please note, this is an English language class to develop comprehension and vocabulary. This is not a 'read along' class. Our own materials are used to teach learners during this course. The focus of the classes is to develop language including, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, fluency and writing skills.
