If you see similarities between Roblox and building bricks, you would be right! Roblox looks like a virtual building world, so let's put blocks and "Blox" together! This 2 week camp works like this: On Day 1 we will pick 1-2 age-appropriate Roblox games that are our favorites. After that, we will play our first game together on a private server. We will always have game play the first day of camp that week. This is a great for learners who are familiar with the game to help those who are new to the game. From these common interests, friendships are formed and communication skills improve. While we are playing, we will also think about potential brick builds for the next camp day. On the 2nd day of camp (always day 2 of that week) there will be no Roblox play. Instead, it's time to get out your building blocks and bricks. We will brainstorm scenes from the game we played the previous days. We will build a scene from the game. Learners do not necessarily have to build the same scene. We will end class by showing off our creations! This is not a competition class, so we will all support each other and our wonderful builds! Here is the basic schedule of camp: Day 1: Choose 1-2 Roblox Games and Play Day 2: Build from Game 1 & 2 Day 3: Choose 1-2 Roblox Games and Play Day 4: Build from Game 3 & 4 *It is best for learners to join our Outschool class on one device and play Roblox on a separate device. *Students should already have Roblox installed on their chosen device. Once a student enrolls, I will send a private message to obtain their Roblox username.

Students will improve their communication and socialization skills. They will practice listening and following directions. They will learn to help others. They will develop fine motor skills through block/brick builds.

I will prescreen Roblox games for age appropriateness, however if parents are concerned about the content of the game, I strongly suggest being present during the class for supervision. If there is a game a parent would not like us to play, please let me know and I will make sure we do not play that game.

Students should have one device to join our Zoom meeting and a separate device to play Roblox.

I've worked with children for 20 years, starting as a camp counselor teaching drama classes.

My styles of classes include enrichment clubs based on the interests of learners. Activities include arts & crafts, cooking, gaming, and movement.
I also have Roblox based classes and movement classes.
I have a Master's Degree in Communication from Illinois State University.
I'm a Mom of two awesome kiddos who also love their Outshool classes!
Outschool has become an irreplaceable part of our daily lives!
