This is a bilingual story time of the book "I Like It When... Me Gusta Cuando" by Mary Murphy. This cute and developmentally appropriate story for young learners helps practice the sentence frame "I like it when..." along with possible phrases to end the sentence. This is an excellent story time for beginner Spanish speakers - students in their first year of learning Spanish or young bilingual Spanish speakers. We will practice vocabulary from the book "I Like It When... Me Gusta Cuando" by Mary Murphy. The class will be structured into the following: Introductions and Conversation starter (5 mins) Sing song "Me Gusta ___, I Like ___" (5 mins) Read book (5 mins) Write and Read our own book! (10 mins) My teaching style is student centered in that I choose topics that are most interesting to students and I try my best to constantly check in with the student to engage students. Minimal background knowledge needed. If the child tends to be more hyperactive or have trouble sitting and paying attention independently I recommend for the parent to sit with the child. I also recommend sitting with the child if they are a new Spanish learner.

Hello! My name is Daniela or Ms. Daniela. I am overjoyed that I am able to begin my teaching journey on Outschool! I have experience teaching and tutoring children aged 3-11 years old in public schools and online. I love teaching online because it offers the opportunity to individualize curriculum based on student needs and interests while challenging me to be creative with my lesson planning. I obtained a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and also studied linguistics, Spanish, and child psychology while in university. Spanish was my first language and what I grew up speaking at home, so I'm happy to share that skill with young learners.
