In this 6-lesson course, learners will work with middle elementary level geometry skills. Students will learn to define geometry vocabulary and apply them, use them in creating and talking about these concepts, categorizing, and more. The study of geometry helps learners increase spatial understanding, build thinking skills, enhance 3-D thinking, and helps to connect the left and right hemispheres of the brain. Students will be introduced to the geometry vocabulary vertical, horizontal, oblique, perpendicular, parallel, quadrilateral, attribute, perimeter, area. Students will learn to apply the above terms and categorize quadrilaterals using geometrical vocabulary. Students will be able to determine the perimeter of a given shape. Students will be able to calculate the area of a parallelogram.
