Beyblade 訓練學院（FLEX 班）

Are you a fan of Beyblades?  Do you have what it takes to be a trainer?

To be a trainer in this academy you must:
-Have access to a device (PC, tablet, or phone) that can record video, capture photos, and download SeeSaw app (compatible with Chromebooks, computers, iPads, iPhones, Android tablets, Android phones, Kindle Fire)
-Be comfortable with uploading photos and videos to a collaborative journal (SeeSaw)
-Be comfortable with or be willing to learn how to use the SeeSaw app (no personal information required to register, just a code)
-Have at least 2nd grade reading, writing, and math skills
-Have at least four Beyblades (Burst or Metal Fusion), a stadium, and launcher

It is important to make sure your bey can compete with the best in tournaments so get ready to train those beys in the Beyblade Training Academy.  You will show off your beys’ talents by posting photos, videos, and completing academic challenges.  Get your launcher, stadium, and your Beyblade collection ready!    

Class Overview:
As a trainer, the participant will need to prepare their beys for graduation from the Beyblade Training Academy.  They will get to interact with other trainers throughout the course by adding comments, tips, or feedback to other trainers’ posts.  This is a Flex class, so there are no live meetings.  

Participants will be securely posting videos and submitting assignments through SeeSaw.  SeeSaw is an interactive collaborative journal where students can post videos, photos, and submit assignments without having to register through email.  Students can also view and comment on others’ posts.  A tutorial for SeeSaw will be available to participants along with instructional videos for completing training tasks.

A link will be posted in the Outschool classroom each Monday with instructions for the week’s activities.  Participants may work at their own pace, but should try to complete activities by Sunday of each week.  

Communication with teacher:  You will have an opportunity to send questions through the Outschool classroom.  I will check the Outschool classroom page and SeeSaw every day to answer questions and monitor progress.  

Interaction with peers:  Participants will interact with each other by posting photos, videos of battles, and feedback about training tasks.  Feedback can be in writing or by voice recording.

Course Content and Structure:
Week 1:  Welcome and Introductions
Description:  During this week, you will introduce yourself to other Bladers, learn how to post to SeeSaw, and get to know other Bladers.
Training Tasks:
-Fill out Training Academy Bio 
-Post pics of stadium, launchers, and bey collection 
Interact!
-Post your Beyblade Burst app name and battle online! (OPTIONAL)
-Find someone who has the same launcher, beyblades, stadium, or favorite character as you

Week 2:  Math and Science
Description:  Strengthening your math and science skills can help determine which beys are best for each battle.
Training tasks:
-Create and post a Beyblade Venn Diagram comparing abilities or characteristics of your beys
-Time your stamina battles and post results 
-Read a graph and answer questions.  Use data from the graph to post a stadium battle video.  
-Calculate how many Crazy Combos can be made from the parts of a Beyblade
Interact!
-Comment on battle videos from fellow Bladers
-Create and post some Crazy Combos.  Comment on other Bladers’ Crazy Combos.  

Language Arts & Design:
Description:  Enhance your poetic and artistic skills to help Beys unlock their full potential when battling in the stadium.
Training Tasks:
Create and post a Beyblade Cinquain (poem) to chant while battling to unlock your bey’s full potential.  
Design your own bey layer and name it 
Create your own launch 
Interact!
Support your fellow bladers’ creative talents by commenting on posts

Week 4:  Epic Bey Battle Graduation Ceremony
Description:  Now that you have trained your beys in the arts and sciences, now it is time to test their skills! Are they ready for tournaments?
Training tasks:
Create at least 3 YouTube-like battle videos describing the action
Create a training manual for future Bladers
Recognize and award your beys for graduating The Beyblade Training Academy by posting pics of your top 3 performers
Interact!
Celebrate graduation from the Beyblade Training Academy with your fellow Bladers by commenting on battles and awards for top finishers
