We will learn with exercises, songs, and games. Students will be introduced to basic singing technique including correct posture, belly breathing, and supported long tones. Students will learn how to match pitches, sing high/low and up/down tones. Students will learn to keep a steady beat in 4/4 and 3/4 time signatures with chanting, clapping, and stepping. Students will learn how to prepare a song for performance with others. (story, words, melody, actions) Students will learn the "Do-Mi-So" triad and identify it in songs. Students will learn to read quarter notes and eighth notes. I've been making music most of my life, from my first piano lessons in grade school, to my Bachelor of Music from the Crane School of Music, to orchestra and choir performances, to a professional music teaching studio.
