***Get half off of the first class with coupon code STEPH5HM754 In this ongoing class, learners will be introduced to three new sight words each week. These words will be from the Dolch list. It’s important for learners to be able to recognize and read these words. Learners will be taught how to read these words through multi-sensory activities. It’s very important to be able to recognize the phonemes(sounds) in the words and match the phonemes with the correct graphemes(letters). Beginning readers will learn to read and recognize the new sight words through hands on activities, discussion, and independent practice. Learners will interact with me and other students throughout each lesson as we complete activities together. Learners will need prior knowledge of all individual letter sounds. Week of April 3rd: Sight Words: been, them, must Week of April 10th: Sight Words: soon, was, make Week of April 17th: Sight Words: help, play, what Week of April 24th: Sight Words: they, from, meet Week of May 8th: how, old, walk Week of May 15th: read, best, full

I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. My educational experience includes several years as a classroom teacher and several years as an online teacher. Whether in person or online I make learning very engaging so students will enjoy the experience. I know that if I can make learning fun, then the students will grasp the concepts even better!
I will be teaching beginner reading classes. My experience as a classroom teacher and an online teacher has given me the passion to make learning to read enjoyable for students. My goal is for your child to be encouraged, comfortable, and excited about learning in my classroom!
I am married and have three daughters. We love boating, camping, and going to the mountains together. I enjoy painting and have recently started gardening! I enjoy spending lots of quality time with my family.
