課堂經歷
In these one-on-one lessons, we will learn the skills necessary to understanding how to play piano and other keyboard instruments. This can include, but not necessarily be limited to, note identification, high/low pitches, and other elements of piano playing as reviewed in Alfred's Basic Piano Library. Sample Four Week Schedule (in addition to playing through Alfred book and other materials): Week 1- Introduction to Piano and Keyboard instruments, creating individual goals Week 2- Identifying note names and patterns on keyboard instruments Week 3- Practice strategies and diagnosing problems Week 4- Pre-performance strategies and preparation (this schedule may have to be modified depending on the needs of the individual student) Typical lessons include the following: -recap of the prior week's material, and overall view of the student's week (stress, academic workload, and other outside elements can affect a student's ability to focus, so I always ensure to check in on students so they not only know they are cared for, but that students can receive the best instruction for their own needs) -going over the new week's material, discussing how this material can be practiced, and relating it to other relevant musical concepts -time for questions, concerns, and to review overall takeaways of the lesson (what did we learn?)

It is recommended that students have a keyboard or piano (either a full piano or a keyboard with a minimum of 44 keys) and Alfred's Basic Piano Library 1A. If the student does not have access to these, other solutions can be discussed on a short term basis until they are able to obtain them. If the student progresses quickly, additional books or materials may be requested for purchase. Other original warm-ups and activities will be provided by the teacher as needed for no additional cost.

Hello! I love to teach music and to help others learn and grow. I am always looking for more ways to share my passion and make an impact in the world, so I have joined Outschool to do just that.
I have taught a variety of ages and subjects, from general preschool classes to high school instrumental ensembles and general music courses. Regardless of the students' ages, however I have always made it a priority to introduce content in a variety of different ways to meet my students where they are and make sure the learning environment is as beneficial to them as possible.
I have dual bachelor's degrees in Music Education and Performance from Rowan University, where I worked as a tutor for Music Theory, Music History, and a variety of general education and introductory music courses. I completed my master's degree in Trumpet Performance at West Chester University, where I served as the graduate assistant for the Department of Music Education. Currently, in addition to my private teaching, I am the Northeastern Regional Coordinator of the MusicLink Foundation, a non-profit organization providing music lessons to those in need, and I work as a grant writer and administrator for a number of other music non-profit organizations.
I make it my priority to ensure that each student's individual needs and goals are addressed and that the learning environment is supportive and inclusive. I hope to teach your child soon!評論
