In this class learners will master the essential features of language including nouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions and more. Through engaging age-appropriate lessons, learners will develop a basic understanding of each part of speech and learn how to use them successfully in their writing. This class will meet twice a week for fun and interactive classes where learners are encouraged to move around and participate in activities. Nearpod games and activities will be utilized as well as worksheets upon request to review their skill at home. This course is perfect for learners at any point in their learning journey who want to advance their skills and knowledge of language.

Welcome! I am Kristen Long, a Maryland certified Elementary School Teacher. I have worked with children ages 5-17 as a coach, club sponsor and tutor. I have a passion for teaching Science and Reading Comprehension to younger learners. When I am not teaching, I enjoy gardening, taking hikes and listening to audiobooks. I am married with two boys and a cat.
My years of experience in the classroom allows me to create a safe educational environment where learners are respected, and their opinions valued. I design lessons that are accessible and engaging to foster lifelong learners. My years of motherhood have taught me that children are vastly different in the way they learn and process information.
