Map skills are so important and fun to learn for young learners. I think it is very important for students to understand where they are on a map and how to read one. Students will join a Nearpod lesson to learn and understand the purpose of maps, globes, cardinal directions, land, water and more! These are the basics of learning how to use and read a map! This will be an engaging, interactive class! The Map Skills we will cover are: Class 1: 1. Maps vs. Globes 2. Cardinal Directions 3. Map...
Students will be able to identify different features on maps and globes. They will also be able to create their own map with the skills they have learned.
I am an elementary school teacher who is passionate about geography and map skills. I think it is very important for students to understand where they are on a map and how to read a map! These are the basic skills they need to understand in order to learn how to read a map in depth.
Students will need access to Nearpod.com where they will be given a code to join and interactive lesson. They can open a new tab on their web browser and see both Zoom and Nearpod or use a separate device to access Nearpod so they can still see Zoom!
