Begin an engaging journey through the evolution of ballet, from its origins in the Italian Renaissance courts to the cutting-edge contemporary performances of today. We'll explore ballet history through videos, photos, slideshows, and lecture time. Students will take notes of key points on their note cards, then use their notes cards as reference for their project. (Teacher guidance on note-taking provided) Weekly ongoing project: Students will build a timeline through the ballet eras and include the important dates, key figures, major events, and works that they learn each week in class. Project time has been built into the class duration. We will add to this project each week in class. Students will start their project in class and finish outside of class, if needed. Please have supplies ready at the first class (see supply list). PROJECT GOAL: Help students understand chronological order of events. New topic added each week - Join anytime! _____________________ Week of Jan 6 - Catherine de' Medici and the Ballet Comique de la Reine (1581) Week of Jan 13 - Pierre Beauchamp and the Baroque Era Week of Jan 20 - Marie Taglioni and the introduction of pointework Week of Jan 27 - Marius Petipa, Tchaikovsky, and the Classical Era ... and many more to come!

父母的引導和規範
Parents are responsible for the safety of their student/s. A space of at least 4 feet by 4 feet must be clear of any trip hazards or dangerous objects. Students may wear ballet shoes or participate barefoot (no socks).
Health & Safety:
You understand that dance and physical exercise carry inherent risks of injury. You should consult with a physician or healthcare professional before beginning any physical activity to ensure that it is appropriate for your fitness level and personal health.
Personal Responsibility:
You are responsible for creating a safe and appropriate environment for your participation, including wearing proper attire, using non-slippery surfaces, and ensuring adequate space. If at any point you feel discomfort, dizziness, or pain, you should stop immediately and seek medical advice.
Instruction & Modifications:
While the instructor provides guidance and modifications, it is your responsibility to gauge your ability to perform the exercises. Any modifications or variations are to be performed at your own risk.
Waiver of Liability:
By engaging in these online classes, you waive any and all claims against the instructor, the company, or any associated parties for injuries, damages, or losses that may occur from your participation in the class, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.
Intellectual Property:
The content provided in this class is for personal use only. Reproduction, distribution, or unauthorized sharing of class materials is prohibited without written consent.
Class Size Minimum:
If the class size minimum is not met, the class may still be held but finish early, depending on the material covered for each lesson. Fewer students often results in moving through the lesson much faster. The class fee, however, remains the same, because the same amount of material is being covered during each lesson. (OR) Students may be combined from multiple sections of the same class into one class time, creating one full class instead of several partially-filled classes. You will be notified in advance if this second option is required. I understand that a schedule change may interfere with other classes you are taking on Outschool.
先決條件
Students should be able to organize information, take notes from a lecture, and follow instructions.

Ballet Teacher | Cultivating Excellence in Ballet Education and Beyond!
❤️ I'm a new teacher here on Outschool (but have been teaching since 2016). My teaching style is watch me, we try, you try. I encourage my students to ask questions when they need more clarity on the current topic. I like to keep my class sizes small (4-6 students) and camps to no more than 10 students. Each student receives the attention they deserve. I recommend viewing my classes on a device with a large screen so you can see your teacher clearly. Since I'm still new, if you see a class you like but the time isn't right, please reach out to me with your requests. I am still navigating my schedule to see what works best for my students adn following. I can't wait to see you in my next class!

Amber Roberts is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 9 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Pre-Primary through Level 3 will be taught by ABT® Certified Teacher, Amber Roberts, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
