Each week learners will meet a different animal or group of animals and learn their characteristics, habits, habitats, and lots of interesting and unusual facts. At the beginning of each class, students will be asked to watch for clues: each week will feature a "Mystery Animal" that will be revealed at the end of class. Will learners guess the right animal? Since students learn best though active involvement, I encourage lots of interaction. Each class will have a mixture of games,...
Students will be able to classify each animal we learn about and describe the characteristics of each category of animals. They will learn at least 6-8 individual animals (or more) in each lesson and understand why that animal fits into, for example, the amphibian category by identifying common characteristics of amphibians.

Most classes will include a short YouTube clip about our featured animal or group of animals. Students will not have direct access to YouTube and will be viewed only as I screenshare.
We will use short YouTube videos to enhance the classroom experience. All YouTube videos will be screenshared only; students will not have access to YouTube directly.
