課堂經歷
I welcome learners of all identities and backgrounds into my classes. In this class, the students will do engaging art activities using crayons and markers, while incorporating music. They will get to experience a variety of styles of music, including classical, jazz, ragtime, and more. We will listen to a piece of music and use that music to inspire our artwork. We will do some musical activities, including conducting, hand and movement to the music. The music for each class will be the theme for our drawing. This class will teach musical elements, such as tempo (fast and slow), and steady beat. We will explore mood in music. Sometimes we will talk about the story behind the music, or create a story idea to go along with the composition. They will improve their listening skills. The students will be encouraged to listen to the music and participate in moving to the music. The activities are designed to enhance creativity. Your child will have the freedom to express themselves artistically, fostering their imaginative skills. This class is focused on building confidence. Participating in the class and sharing their artwork and musical contributions will boost their self-esteem and self-expression. Working together in group activities will teach your child the importance of teamwork and cooperation. They will create art with crayons and markers, based on musical prompts. They will discover how music can evoke different emotions and inspire their artwork. This is to experience how art and music can be a great expression of feelings and mood. Week of June 1 - Three section art piece, with shapes. Musical Element - Pitch : High, medium and low. We will make 3 sections on a paper, and each section will represent a musical pitch. The students will draw in the section for Do, Mi, or Sol, as I sing those notes. They will color in their designs. Week of June 7 - Two panel drawing of a young person. Musical element - Tempo (fast and slow). We will divide a paper into two halves. One half will be for fast tempo, and the other half will be slow tempo. I will teach them how to draw the picture of the person, and they will go back and forth between the fast and slow sides of the page, based on how fast the music is. Week of June 14 - Geometric Design with lines, squiggles and circles. Musical Element - HIgh and Low. Thee student will begin drawing lines from high to low, and from low to high, based on the music. Then we will fill in the design, with circles at the bottom and squiggles and wavy lines at the top. They will listen to the music, to know whether to draw up high, or down low in their design. They will color their design. Week of June 21 - Rhythms in Art and in Music. Musical Elements - Rhythms, steady beat, quarter notes, eighth notes, sixteenth notes. The students will draw along with the rhythmic patterns, starting with straight lines. They will practice listening for the rhythms and matching the beat. We will add flowers to the lines, and then color the drawing.
