Art History for Kids Create a work of art inspired by a famous artist! In this ongoing class, learners will be introduced to a different artist each week. To start class, we will learn and have a discussion about the artist and their work. This will be done largely though a slide show while asking students about what they see. Students will be introduced to different artists and art movements. Students will continue to develop skills in artistic expression, artistic decision making, and fine motor skills.
The two things I love most in life is art and teaching! I have a degree in art education and have lots of experience working with young students. I think that basic understanding of art techniques and theories are important things that students should learn to not only further their art skills but also to see the beauty in the world around them!

Materials needed almost every week: Drawing paper Pencil Eraser Other materials used throughout the course: Drawing- crayons, colored pencils, markers Watercolor- watercolor paints, paintbrush, cup of water, paper towels Painting- acrylic or tempera paint, paintbrushes, cup of water, paper towels, paper plate or something to use as a pallet Collage- colored paper, scissors, glue Mixed Media- paper, drawing materials, yarn, paint, scissors, glue, patterned paper An exact supply list for each week will be posted in the classroom at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of class.
