課堂經歷
Each week we will explore a new artist - first we will learn about their life, then spend some time looking at their art and having an open ended discussion to help us get inspired. We will then end class making some art. We will not be copying their work, only using their work as a jumping off point to get us thinking about new ideas and ways to create. Some artists we will explore include Judy Chicago, Mickalene Thomas, Louise Bourgeois, Lygia Clark, Han Sai Por, Alma Thomas, and Sonia Delaunay, with more to be added. This class will be very interactive as we have a discussion, share ideas, and share how our own work is progressing. Please note we will be exploring a variety of art materials and methods which I will share more about in the materials section. Session 1 (January 27, 2021): Han Sai Por Session 2 (February 3, 2021): Alma Thomas Session 3 (February 10, 2021): Kara Walker

Materials for session 1: Charcoal Paper (thick art paper would be best if you have it, any paper will do though) Air drying clay Materials for session 2: Pencil Paper (something thick like mixed media paper, or watercolor paper) Paintbrush Paint (whatever you have, acrylic, watercolor, your choice) Palette (place to mix paint) Materials for session 3: Pencil Large white piece of paper Black paper Scissors Glue
