Our creative hour together will cover one of the basic art elements every young artist should understand to make their art more powerful and strong in their eyes and other viewers'. The classes can stand alone. The basic art elements to be taught will be line, shape, color, value, texture, form and space. We will explore many types of mediums such as drawing pencils, watercolors, color pencils , watercolors and acrylics. My goal is to teach in a positive and encouraging style that promotes...
My goals for the artists in my class are first, for them be confident in their artistic abilities and secondly that they are able to take what was covered during our time together and use it independently.
I hold a Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting as well as a Texas Teaching Certificate. I have taught Art classes for more than 18 years of my 34 years of total teaching experience from Kinder to High School! Two of my 34 years experience have been teaching online Art classes in the live virtual format. I received Teacher of the Year in my school district twice and District Teacher of the Year as well.
Basic Materials: * Denotes materials that will give the best experience for that particular class, but are not mandatory pencils and sharpener *Drawing Pencils (HB, 4B, 6B) eraser *kneaded eraser * blending stub or que-tips Black Crayon *Black Fine tipped permanent marker -ie. Fine Sharpie Marker Drawing paper is best for all dry media, however printer paper works for most drawings Colored Pencils Markers Crayons *Watercolors and Brushes
