Learners have fun with Rozine's curriculum which includes seasonal pop art, cartooning, and graphic design. During each session, students learn to create an optical illusion of three-dimensional spheres. WEEK 1: Cones WEEK 2: Diamonds and Squares WEEK 3: Holes WEEK 4: Spheres Rozine guides students step-by-step, drawing straight and curved lines with pencil. Drawing and coloring develops many talents, such as: • fine motor skills • spatial reasoning • objectivity • visualization • self-discipline • creative problem-solving
Since 2005, Rozine taught cartooning classes to elementary-aged, inner-city children in Chicago and Los Angeles. She is the illustrator, author, and publisher of several all-age coloring activity books. She creates a relaxing atmosphere, encouraging connection amongst others, as well as confident self-expression.
Students will need either a sketchpad, or a few sheets of drawing or printer paper. Pencils, erasers, and a straight-edge ruler are a must. A sharpie or black marker and a white colored pencil are integral to the design. Coloring utensils can be used, such as crayons, colored pencils, and/or markers, but may not be demonstrated. Students can frame their artwork by stapling or taping it to a larger sheet of colored construction paper (also optional).
