Recently more than 4000 exoplanets - planets around other stars, have been confirmed to exist in our galaxy by NASA. But can all these planets be “habitable” ? In this class we will study about how scientists at NASA are searching for exoplanets in our galaxy. We will try to understand what makes any newly discovered exoplanet “habitable”. Further, we will discuss about some interesting exoplanets recently discovered by NASA’s TESS and Kepler space missions. And looking forward, what is the...
In this class students will learn 1) what are exoplanets 2) what is a Goldilocks zone for a planet 3) how to search for habitable exoplanets 4) some very interesting exoplanets discovered recently which could be habitable.
