阿拉伯語/英語故事時間：讓我們閱讀有關動物的有趣故事！

Welcome to Storytime with Imane!
*** This class is for children ages 3 to 7 who have little to no prior knowledge of the Arabic language ***
 
In this one week class, we will read 3 fun stories about animals in Arabic/English. The main goal of this read aloud story time class is to get your child exposed to the Arabic language in a fun and engaging environment. By the end of this class, students will have practiced their Arabic listening skills and acquired some Arabic vocabulary words related to different kinds of animals, namely ocean animals, farm animals as well as pets.  

The stories we will be reading are entitled:
1- Under the Sea- تحت البحر (Now available on Amazon)
2- In my Grandpa's Farm - في مزرعة جدي
3- What Pet should I Pick? - أي حيوان أليف سأختار؟
These stories were all written by me. I love writing beginner bilingual stories not only because they are fun to write but also because many parents find it difficult to get their hands on beginner Arabic stories in bookstores, especially in western countries. 

We will start each class by learning/practicing basic words related to self introduction in Arabic (e.g. Hello, my name is...). Then, we will dive into our story. I will read the lines in Arabic and students are welcome to read the English version if they want to. I will ask questions such as " what do you see?" " what will come next" to engage my learners in the reading process. Throughout these stories, we will also practice the words related to animals in Arabic. At the end of every class, we will go over the Arabic keywords that we have encountered in the story.

I like to give my students a lot of opportunities to speak and practice the words they have learned. We will follow the model " I do, we do, you do" to provide students with enough language input and scaffolding to reach their learning goals. 

The stories will be presented in slides for the purpose of this class. The first one "Under the Sea" has already been published on Amazon. Feel free to grab a copy if your child loved it!
