High interest reading is the KEY to motivating young minds to read more! In this class we will be reading and talking about all things animals. Each class we will have an animal theme, from pandas to dogs to sea turtles, etc. Each week we will learn facts about one animal through reading a non-fiction text and class discussion. Then, we will watch a short video about the animal ambassador of the week. Finally, we will play a Kahoot! with trivia questions about the animal of the week. I looooove animals and I love to read and share the joy of reading with my students! The key to inspiring that love of reading in children is selecting a high interest topic, like this one. I am a fun, patient, and warm teacher and I love supporting students on their journey as growing readers and writers. I'm an experienced elementary school teacher, and as part of this class, I will follow up with feedback about any concerns and areas your child could grow in. This is going to be such a fun class! I can't wait to see your animal-loving-learner in my class! **Classes are independent of one another and students can enroll at any time. Class topics will be updated as the course progresses. Class Outline: Introductions Reading Passage with comprehension checks and class discussion/sharing Short video about animal of the week Trivia with Kahoot!

Hello families!
My name is Jennifer Boham and I have been teaching math for 15 years. I hold a Florida Teaching License with certifications in Elementary Education and Middle School Math.
I love helping students overcome learning blocks like frustration, self-doubt, and of course boredom. My goal is to make sure your child feels supported in class and confident in their academic ability. I achieve this through patience, kindness, positive encouragement and lots of FUN.
When I was a young student, I actually struggled with math! This gives me a unique perspective and helps me reach students who are feeling frustrated. I overcame that frustration because I realized that my mindset was the only thing in the way. I realized that math could actually be fun! I never would have believed that before! Here I am, many years later, starting my 16th year of teaching math - another plot twist! I look forward to helping your learner find joy in learning math this school year and gain the confidence that will propel them forward, helping them reach their dreams.
My family and I live in Florida with our dogs Pepper and Dexter and our cat Junebug. I enjoy traveling, gardening, biking, relaxing at the beach and going to Disney!
