During this class, students will learn how to read closely using the engaging article "Animal Flatulence: Scientists Use Twitter to Pass on Information." We will first discuss what it means to complete a close read of the text. I will read the entire text aloud with learners while displaying each chunk for them to follow along with me. While reading, we will stop periodically to discuss vocabulary, make connections, ask questions and talk about the text, as well as look back in the article...

I specialize in reading skills/strategies, step by step writing instruction, and working with students at their own individual levels.
