Learners will analyze primary source documents and answer comprehension questions based on a primary source. These activities should not take more than one hour to complete評估
Learners will be assessed informally in each class through verbal comprehension checks and class discussion. Each class will begin with a quick review of the activities from the previous week's class to ensure students understood the material. At the end of each unit, students will complete a Kahoot, which will act as an informal summative assessment of the unit.評分

Embark on an educational journey through two of the world's earliest and most influential civilizations: Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt. Through a comprehensive PowerPoint and guided notes packet, students will learn about life along the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, the development of Ancient Sumer, Hammurabi and the Babylonian Empire, Hammurabi's Code, the Phoenicians, and the powerful Assyrians and Persians. In the Ancient Egypt portion of the class, students will uncover the significance of the Nile River, the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt under Menes (Narmer), the role of the pharaoh, mummification, Egyptian bureaucracy, and the lives of renowned pharaohs such as King Tut, Ramses II, and Hatshepsut. This engaging course provides students with a solid foundation in the history, geography, and cultural achievements of these fascinating civilizations.
