Ready to become an Egyptologists? Don't worry, no experience necessary! 

In this class we will talk about some of the most interesting parts of Ancient Egypt!

Each week there is a prerecorded lesson that students will need to watch. There are also a few activities that are done after class that the students will upload and share on our classroom page. Classroom discussions are also a large part of this class. We use the classroom to discuss theories, things that surprised us, and any questions that students might have.

Day One: Ancient hieroglyphs - We will take a field trip to Egypt and look at hieroglyphs. Once we have an understanding of this ancient language you will get a chance to decode hieroglyphic messages and even write your own! - Once you've written your own message you'll upload it to the classroom.

Day Two: Life After Death - In this class we will learn about the mummification process, burial rituals, and The Book of the Dead. You will get to design your own tomb at the end of this class.

Day Three: The Ancient Egyptians believed in many gods. In this class we will learn about some of their most important gods, their roles, and how they looked. At the end of class you will create a poster of the gods and what they looked like.

Day Four: The Curse of the Mummy - What happened to the people who opened King Tutankhamun's tomb? Could there actually be a curse? I will present you with the facts that we know and then you will get to decide the answer to that question for yourself.
