ASL 1 covers all of the basics in American Sign Language. Students will get the foundation they need before moving on to ASL 2. Basic Words, Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives and basic sentences will be taught in this class. Students will mimic teacher and follow teacher for right hand and finger placement. This class is very inclusive and students are encouraged to participate. Week One: We will learn the alphabet and words pertaining to the alphabet as well as numbers 1-20. We will also learn the...
Students will be able to learn basic words of ASL, correct syntax, correct placement of fingers and hands. When the course is finished students will be fluent in basic sign language, basic sentences and understanding of correct placement and syntax in American Sign Language in order to move to ASL 2.
I am profoundly DEAF and have a degree in deaf education. ASL is my first language and I am thrilled to be teaching your students!
