In this two-week class, students will study the basics of weather. The teacher will use slides, reading, short videos, discussions, and lectures. We will also play games to test students’ knowledge of our topics. The teacher will also encourage students to keep a weather journal (Writing / Drawing.) outside of class. All Classes are independent of each other. Topics that will be covered in each class . Class 1: Introductory weather terms and the water cycle. - Water Cycle and Clouds Class 2: Types of precipitations - Rain, Sleet, Snow, Hail Class 3: The Science of Severe Weather - Thunder and lightning / Severe Storms / Winter Storms Class 4: Hurricanes & Tornadoes: Formation and Effects - Formation of Hurricanes and Tornadoes. - Exploration on the causes and effects of tornadoes.
學習目標
Students will identify the three stages of the water cycle.
Students will describe the four types of precipitation. .
Students will investigate the causes of severe weather
Students will explain two ways severe weather happens.

Hello! I’m Terry Brown, a dedicated and compassionate K-12 special education teacher based in the Twin Cities area. With a deep love for learning and teaching, I bring energy and patience to every classroom I enter.
I hold an MA in Teaching English Education (Secondary) and an MA in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University, as well as a BA in English from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. Over the years, I’ve taught English Language Arts at both middle school and high school levels, and I currently teach a variety of courses, including Preschool classes, Upper Elementary and Middle School Literature (both Fiction and Non-Fiction), and Science.
In our time together, my students and I develop critical reading skills, actively analyze age-appropriate texts, and discover how literature connects to the world around us. I specialize in fostering close and active reading strategies—you can bet we’ll be marking up those books! Watching students make meaningful connections to what they read is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
Outside the classroom, I’m a lifelong learner and passionate writer. I enjoy honing my teaching craft and creating stories—right now, I’m working on a children’s chapter book!
I’m excited to share my love for reading and writing with my students and help them find joy in their learning journeys.評論
