關於植物的一切！植物及其結構（Flex 類）

In this 4 week flex class, students will learn about plants from their cells to their life cycles. Students will learn the following by week (in chronological order):
1. Plant cells-including structures of the cell and what organelles a plant has that makes it unique to other organisms
2. Plant seeds and types- including the difference between a monocot and dicot seed, as well as gymnosperm (cone bearing) and angiosperm (flowering) plants
3.Parts of a plant- including discussing vascular versus nonvascular plants and their structures, including how they obtain nutrients such as xylem and phloem
4. Life cycle of plants- including from germination and how seeds can spread to growth and creation of new seeds (budding, propagation, etc. will be discussed)


Each week, students will follow the following lesson format for content:

Video- students will watch a prerecorded video on Youtube (viewable through the Outschool Classroom) and complete a notetaker for their records while they watch the video. Answer keys will be provided every Friday.
Practice Activity- Students will receive an activity to complete each week, including labeling graphs, reading passages, and more. Activities will come from Google Forms/Slides/Docs/Jamboard for digital activities (shared as copies in the classroom), and SuperScience for reading passages. Subscriptions are not required. 
Daily Questions- Students will receive daily questions (5 a week) to answer in the classroom for a discussion. Students will receive feedback to their answers each week
Review Games- Students will receive weekly games from Kahoot to practice their content. Subscriptions are not required to play and weekly links will be provided in the classroom each week by Friday of that week. A final Kahoot review will be provided in the final week for review.
Assessment- Students will receive a final assessment in the final week to review content learned from the course to demonstrate mastery from Google Forms.
Project- Students will be given the option to complete one of three projects to demonstrate mastery in the course:
- Creation of a dissected plant, showing the structures of the plant (plant of choice)
-Short Google Slides on a plant of their choosing for research including structure, life cycle, and other unique features of the plant that help it survive, including location
-Dissection of a plant and demonstration of their part (this can be done by pictures, presentation, or video)
-Project of choice (students can submit their ideas for feedback to allow freedom to create mastery of choice).
