In this advanced and fast paced course, students will learn a variety of mathematical concepts over the course of 20 sessions. During this time, they will work on the following skills per week (with supplemental practice provided): Session 1- Algebra Foundation Review (variables, combining like terms, equivalent expressions, substituting and evaluating expressions, Substituting and Evaluating Expressions, Dividing by 0) Session 2- Solving Equations and Inequalities (Linear equations on both sides, unknown coefficients, and parenthesis) Session 3- Solving Equations and Inequalities (Multi-step equations, number of solutions, and compound inequalities) Session 4- Units (conversion of units, starting by reviewing base units, and progressing to more challenging units) Session 5- Graphing (Linear equations and x and y-intercepts, finding slope) Session 6- Graphing (modeling and identifying horizontal and vertical lines) Session 7- Linear Equations (slope intercept, and graphing and writing slope intercept) Session 8- Linear Equations (forms of two variable linear equations) Session 9- Systems of Equations (testing solutions, finding on graph) Session 10- Functions (Evaluating and solving, vocabulary of functions including minimum, maximum, and domain) Session 11- Functions (Rate of Change) Session 12- Sequence Session 13- Absolute Value and Piecewise Functions Session 14- Exponents and Radicals Session 15-Exponential growth and decay Session 16- Quadratic (multiplying) Session 17- Quadratic (factoring) Session 18- Quadratic (equations) Session 19- Quadratic (functions) Session 20- Irrational Numbers At the end of each unit, students will provided access to a virtual quiz through Google Forms for review of concepts as well as a review game from Kahoot to practice prior to the quiz. These quizzes may be used for academic grading purposes or enrichment. In addition, students will receive daily questions in the classroom to practice solving, as well as receive weekly practice to complete independently. During each class, I will introduce the topic, and provide step by step practice to learn how to solve the problem using standard algorithm (students may use other methods previously learned and will be supported in those, however for the purposes of the class for instruction standard algorithm will be utilized). Several practice problems will be presented, with opportunities to pause the video to permit students a chance to work through and solve as they learn/review the concept of the week. Students will also have Khan Academy pages made for them (no previous account needed) and have assignments issued to review content learned for each week (this is not required, but is being provided as an additional enrichment). Private tutoring is also available upon request for additional support in this concept.

Please ensure your student practices the skill sets with the supplemental material to ensure students learn the most material. Answer key is provided (not for quizzes however-please contact for that information).
Students will be given practice in both a digital form and paper for ease of access for families (Google Docs will be used for families wishing to complete assignments digitally, while PDFs will be provided if printing is preferred). An account is not needed for access.
Students will have access to Kahoot for reviewing strategies and extra practice with each unit. An account is not needed for access.
Students will also be given access to Khan Academy for additional enrichment. An account is not needed as one will be created for the student to use.

With over a decade of experience in public education and a year in nonpublic education, I bring a wealth of expertise to the table. Throughout my journey, I've taught a variety of subjects and grade levels, from middle school science to fifth-grade core subjects and middle school math. Currently, I serve as an Instructional Technologist in my school district, where I assist students in navigating technology and programs effectively.
Beyond traditional classroom settings, I've been actively involved in virtual education, recognizing its significance in the lives of 21st-century learners. My commitment lies in providing a well-rounded education tailored to individual needs, steering away from the one-size-fits-all approach. Rooted in inquiry and mastery, my instructional methods prioritize real-world application and lifelong learning.
My credentials reflect my dedication to education. Certified in Elementary Education, Middle School Science, High School Biology, Gifted and Talented Education, and Read to Succeed, I hold a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, a Master's in Science (6-12), and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with Principal Licensure (6-12). Currently pursuing my Superintendency Program, I strive to continually enhance the educational experience for students.
Throughout my career, I've taught a diverse range of subjects and supported learners of various levels. From tutoring in math, ELA, and science to teaching core subjects like Algebra and World History, I've been deeply committed to fostering academic growth and confidence in my students.
In my teaching philosophy, I firmly believe that every child can learn given the right approach. Understanding that each student has unique learning styles, I emphasize real-world applications to create meaningful connections to the material. By instilling a sense of belief and challenging students to surpass their own expectations, I aim to cultivate confident and successful learners.
Outside of teaching, I'm a proud mother to three wonderful girls and share my home with three dogs and two cats. In my spare time, I indulge in various hobbies, including gardening, photography, crafting, and culinary pursuits.
