Nita Stone teaches this 12-unit flexible schedule course that introduces the science of Agriculture and its importance. Discover how farming and ranching help each of us and learn to appreciate these workers. Did you know that you can “farm” at home? If you raise chickens, rabbits, cows, sheep, goats, or pigs you are farming. Do you and your family have a vegetable garden in your yard? You’re farming. You can even raise some vegetables and fruits in a container or pot. It is important to know that in the United States you must sell $1000 of product per year to be considered a farmer.
