What You Should Expect Each week I will introduce a topic that is debated among gamers or tech enthusiasts. Debates will be moderated, structured, and, most importantly, will be respectful of others. Students will learn about the topic of the week, perspective, and how to disagree with friends. The learning goal of this club is twofold. Learning how to do research and come up with cohesive thoughts quickly will be necessary. I would also like to see progress related to discussing topics in a persuasive but respectful manner.
I have been a gamer for most of my life, and it was partly from the desire to expand my gaming that I built my first computer when I was 12 and never really looked back. I have been highly immersed in technology and how computers work during my 20 years as a video editor. I find great joy in explaining complicated things to my boys as they grow up in our technologically saturated culture and I love creating classes that they would love (or that I would have loved myself as a kid).
A stable internet connection should do the job.
