This is the 5th class in African History. African history is intimately connected with slavery. The Indian Ocean slave trade, Trans- the Saharan- Red Sea Slave Trade, and Trans- the Atlantic Slave Trade. Although the Trans-Atlantic Slave is widely known, the Indian Ocean Slave Trade predated it by 1000+ years, was longer, and had more Africans enslaved in the Far East.
