African Animals - Multi-Day Class

Each class is laid out the same but with a different "star" animal each day. This class is made to be a discussion class. The students will be able to answer question, ask questions, and talk about prior knowledge they have on the topic.

 The first animal that we will learn about is the lion! Student will get to say one thing that they know about lions and talk about if they would want to be a lion or not and why.  We will learn some basic knowledge about lions and some fun and interesting facts. We will watch some clips of lions and discuss what we think they are doing. At the end of class we will discuss what we learned about lions. After class, if they choose, students can draw a picture or write a story about lions and show their creation in the next class.

 The second animal that we will learn about is the giraffe! Student will get to say one thing that they know about giraffes and talk about if they would want to be a giraffe or not and why. We will learn some basic knowledge about giraffes and some fun and interesting facts. We will watch some clips of giraffes and discuss what we think they are doing. After class, if they choose, students can draw a picture or write a story about giraffes and share it in the next class.

The last animal that we will learn about is the zebra! Student will get to say one thing that they know about zebras and talk about if they would want to be a zebra or not and why. We will learn some basic knowledge about zebras and some fun and interesting facts. We will watch some clips of zebras and discuss what we think they are doing. I will read some statements about giraffes and the students will decide if they think they are true or false.  At the end of class we will compare and contrast the different animals and discuss which was our favorite and why.
