Hi! In the class your student will learn about the pH scale and what are considered acids and bases. We will be completing a fun science experiment by mixing baking soda and powdered tempera paint and painting our name. Once we have made our name we will see what happens when vinegar is added. There will be a slight mess and encourage for the experiment to be completed on top of a towel. I will use a short PowerPoint to help students follow along in the class. I encourage your students to ask questions and interact in the class.

We will be using basic white vinegar and baking soda.

Baking soda (1/3 cup) white vinegar (1/2 cup) white paper to paint on paint brushes (3) Tempera paint (2-3 different colors) A cookies sheet or pan to complete activity on Small disposable Dixie cups or small bowls to mix the baking soda and paint together. A rag or paper towels for clean up or messes!

I teach preschool and elementary level classes along with some clubs. I have a huge love for science and intend on sharing all the cool things about science with your child. We will be completing a craft with each class and having fun while doing so.
My name is Celest Creamer, and I am located on the coast of Alabama, I am finishing up my degree in Early Childhood Studies. I am constantly crafting and trying new methods to complete a project.
